oh yay! happy brithday to me!!

went to my grandparents place after the performance at sajc cultural centre to celebrate cos both my uncle henry and i have the same bday..

as usual my ah ma was shou yang (itchy hand), meaning to say that she couldn't wait for me to come...

and dragged my cousin, his mum (small aunt) and her husband (uncle henry) to play mahjong -.- -.- -.-

now kinda high!! the bday cake was chocolate mousse and coffee cheese. it was super sweet, so i gulped down about 3/4 of the glass of what i thought was coke.

but actually i didn't catch the first few words my small aunt said...

it was actually BARCARDI COKE.

sigh. my aunt said i better dun go clubbing since i probably wun know even someone put arsenic into my drink -.-

pw is such an irritating subject... i'm stuck in the computer lab doing it now...

Whoever suggested that this be implemented in the jc curriculum should be punished...

because pw kills a substantial amount of brain cells while we try our best to produce grade A reports.

Multiply that by the number of students taking it, it totals up a number large enough to warrant the infinity signwe often see in maths.

sigh. and i'm supposed to finish my gp essay today but i haven't done it. Was sick on tuesday and yesterday, so i'm clueless about econs since i missed 2 lectures already.

help please! lols. before i get drowned in work, a majority of which are overdue as i was absent
-.-

"women are from venus and men are from mars."

however, the phrase takes on a new twist. It should be reserved for parents and their children instead. you've never met two groups of people who are more different.

after squabbling with my mum this morning(yes, though i'm sick but my mind is concious enough to retort, unlike yesterday night) i realised how differently we think. my mum pointed out that my maths was horrible. i pointed out that it was mainly because i hate, loathe, resent, abhor, detest the subject.

here comes ye age-old argument...

thy parents vs you.

and i shall do it gp style. primarily because i failed gp and thought this would be good practice.

her argument: being a student now is easy because you have it easy and a good life.
her underlying assumption: that we have it easy and a good life.

points in her argument: that we
1. have good food
2. don't have to travel and walk
3. don't have to do housework; our maid does it for us
4. are not tired
5. have tuition in practically every subject
6. are not poor

since she was using all that on me...

my counterargument: rebutting her points, that i
1. have average food, its not particularly good. i'll admit that its definitely better than hers when she was my age.
2. still walk from my house to the mrt and from it to school and back. don't even take taxis or feeder buses.
3. don't have a maid to wait on me from hand to foot. once again, i'll admit that i don't have to do as many chores as she did.
4. not tired? since when was anyone not tired? geez. i do other things that may not tire my body but it tires my mind.
5. don't have any tuition. period.
6. poor? to be honest, we're earning below the average family in singapore. ie. we're poor.

Conclusion: I' ll leave you to draw your own :) but mine was, not to speak to parents about anything of this nature because they'll never get it. this is because they:

1. belong to a different era where they had to help out in chores, and probably help out in their parents' work.

2.do not understand the pressure and difficulty in school.

3. do not understand the power of a few phrases namely, HOT, and depth and maturity of thought. Since when did students have to consider the financial status of an organisation and how it affects the project and the rest of the world, the present and the future?

probably when they said that Napoleon did this or that, that was the end of it and they'd score an A. We'd have to tell why he conquered Venice, like he could control trade by conquering venice, for example.

4. do not understand that cca is really like another school. We have to excel in it too. and its committments extend FAR AND WIDE and even outside of school.

just got home not long ago... had a wild time with some trackers that i haven't seen for very long.

after lunch at ps we din have anything much to do so walked to Minds cafe at Prinsep. *woot* hadn't actually been there before, so was quite excited to go...

we played halli calli 1st, at yating's recommendation...

quite a simple game la, everyone has a stack of cards that are opened one at a time by each player. if there's 5 of a kind( ie. 5 trees, candles, bobbles it was the christmas ed.) you hit the bell on in the centre.

sounds easy, but its suprising how often it's hit wrongly*lol* n somehow ehn kuan yong hit the bell it doesnt ring -.-

another lame game was the animal one. we laughed so much that hui pin said his stomach hurt. I'm currently voiceless too T.T

everyone has an animal and makes the corresponding sound and later it's hidden. (ie. cixin had a cow so her sound is "moo") the gist of it is that you must make the sound of the other party's animal before he does.

it was really funny. because of this game i have no voice. we were laughing so badly...

all the games we played were like so freaking explosive in nature :D when we saw 2 guys behind us playing a quiet game of international chess we practically laughed like crazy.

uh help. we were all so tired after that. sudden highs like this are super energy consuming -.-

in the comp lab again :) seems like its become the place where i hang out besides the cafe and the library.

at least i can use the comps without any pressure like elder bros who download stuff, younger bros who desperately need to use the comp for "homework" or mothers who ask you to check out ntuc link websites -.-

lols. anyways, i just rediscovered savage garden.

a very very very long time ago when i was about 6 (7?) and still living in amk, i remember listening to a song that went "ooh i want you, i don't know if i need you but ooh, i'd die to find out... "

along the way when i still listened to some english songs " i wanna stand with you on the mountains, i wanna bathe with you in the sea..."

and about a week ago i realised that they'de disbanded a LONG time ago. *sigh*so sad, they rock so much!

sigh. i miss them sia... if i'm not wrong, darren hayes is still an artiste. dunno what happened to daniel though. T.T

*ugh* somehow the background image of chii disapparated into thin air. i wish i could be like hermione, point my wand, say the magic words and make it appear right on the screen.

oh well, instead i spent half an hour trying to rectify it, failed, and sent in an enquiry to my image host instead. sigh.

Common Test is almost over thank goodness, and for today i can afford to breathe more freely. There's maths next tuesday... *stabs maths tutorials* Have no choice but to start doing the tutorials and revision exercises and torturing myself by frying my brains :)

Chemistry looks quite hopeful. Econs was a few minutes short of a complete disaster, but its not like it wasn't one in the first place.

was looking for place to study a few days before the chemistry exam, but turns out that i couldn't find any in compass point. By the time i got a seat in the MOS burger i was wearing a look enough to kill someone. -.- -.- -.-

din realise that there was a sign saying: dear students pls don't occupy our seats for studying.

how embarrassing. i only realised when i was about to leave after lunch. -.- x 1000
